Convergence at the World Bank's Financing Low-Carbon Resilient Agriculture Forum

Convergence at the World Bank's Financing Low-Carbon Resilient Agriculture Forum

The 2017 forum, running from 12-13 September in London, aims to connect key stakeholders in the agriculture finance and climate finance space. This strategic event will convene leading financiers, investors, policy makers, climate funds and donors, as well as a wide range of key innovative actors from the public and private sectors, and provide them with an opportunity to understand how they may collaborate more effectively.

On 12 September, our Investment Network Managing Director Peter Stoute-King will be speaking on a panel on blending climate finance and agriculture finance. The panel will identify innovative opportunities to blend climate finance and agriculture finance to scale up climate smart investments in the agriculture sector.

On 13 September, Chris Isaacof Investment Network member AgDevCo, will be showcasing an innovative example of a financial institution that has mainstreamed climate change into its lending operations.

A key objective of the forum will be to explore how financiers in developing countries, especially those working with agricultural clients, can partner with climate finance investors to further their investments in low-carbon resilient agriculture. Through a series of strategic and technical presentations, case studies and discussions, opportunities for a range of partnerships will be explored. The forum will also create the space for participants to engage with leading actors from across the agricultural finance and climate finance arena.
