Heiner W. Skaliks has over 20 years of experience providing international investment guidance, risk and asset management as well as deploying financial services, technical assistance and international development. He most recently served as the CFO/CIO/CTO of Banco Union S.A. Prior to this experience, Heiner supported the merger & acquisition efforts, strategy formulation for recovery of distressed assets and designed financial services for global expansion at multinational Brightstar. His experience includes creating and executing investment strategies as the Portfolio Manager for the US registered Strategic Latin America Fund. He also spent three years at the International Finance Corporation (part of the World Bank Group) overseeing financial sector technical assistance projects in South and Central America and the Caribbean. Heiner started his banking and investment management career upon joining Grupo Mercantil, a leading Bolivian banking/financial services organization, overseeing a diverse loan portfolio ranging from MSMEs to corporate loans, and then serving as CEO and Portfolio Manager of a leading domestic mutual fund/broker-dealer/boutique investment bank. Over the years he appeared in numerous media airings, publications and interviews providing insights into Latin American markets. Heiner holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA (with a concentration in finance), both from the University of Notre Dame, as well as an MPA (macroeconomics and financial markets) from the Kennedy School at Harvard University.
