About Us
Convergence is the global network for blended finance. We exist to increase private investment in emerging markets and developing economies to advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Paris Agreement.
Our members are part of a global community of institutions and businesses dedicated to driving capital to where it is needed most. Members include private investors looking to diversify their portfolios, businesses seeking capital, as well as public agencies and philanthropic foundations looking to make their funds go further.
We offer this community exclusive access to original market intelligence and knowledge products (such as case studies, data analyses, and online and in-person training), networking events, and more. To accelerate advances in the field, Convergence also provides grants for the design of vehicles that could attract private capital to global development at scale.
Backed by multiple governments and internationally recognized philanthropies, Convergence is a not-for-profit corporation in Toronto, Canada that operates globally with physical presence in Washington, DC, Kigali, Nairobi, La Paz, and Singapore.

Team
Convergence is headquartered in Toronto, but we operate globally and have a presence in Nairobi, Kigali, Singapore, La Paz, and Washington DC. We are small but mighty. Our team is passionate about and united around the goal of directing money to where it's needed most - into emerging markets and developing economies and towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We have built a culture defined by our diversity, inclusivity, and ability to get things done. Our team is led by our Chief Executive Officer, Joan M. Larrea.
Board of Directors
The Convergence Board is comprised of 6 members who provide overall guidance and oversight of Convergence. Our Board brings a wealth of experience from the public, private, and philanthropic sectors and draw upon vast experience in international finance and development impact. Our Board is currently chaired by David Creighton, Senior Advisor, BT Global.
Investment Committee
Convergence's Investment Committee brings extensive experience to objectively evaluate the finalist pool of grant proposals and guides decisions on awards for Convergence's various design funding programs to maximize impact.
