Blending with Guarantees is a 2.5-hour (150 minutes) interactive seminar that will cover:
- how guarantees are used in blended finance transactions;
- the issues that impact the effectiveness of this financial instrument;
- case studies and comparisons on the use of guarantees, and
- recommendations to practitioners on deploying guarantees efficiently.
The development community utilizes various financing tools, ranging from grants, equity investments and loans, to guarantees and insurance products. Through guarantees on below-market terms, public or philanthropic investors provide credit enhancement to commercial investors. Guarantees offer a compelling opportunity to mobilize private sector investment towards SDG-aligned projects in emerging and frontier markets.
This is the first seminar in our four-part seminar series “A Closer Look at Blended Finance Instruments".
*The training has limited space to ensure a personal, intensive and practice-driven learning experience. We recommend that no more than 2-3 representatives from each organization attend. Registration is complimentary for members. Non-members can register for a fee of $150. *
