This sectoral guide is one in a series of practical guidance documents from the Green Climate Fund, that provide evidence-based programming experiences to inform proposal development and wider sector-specific work.
Focused on GCF's work in the agriculture sector and food security thematic area, the report posits that the adaptation and mitigation benefits of transitioning to more sustainable agricultural practices can be achieved through three central paradigm shifts; 1) promoting resilient agroecology; 2) facilitating climate informed advisory and risk management services; and 3) reconfiguring food systems. Blended finance features prominently in the second pathway as a key means to mitigate the array of real and perceived risks associated with climate investment in emerging markets.
