This study presents 10 case studies of donor-DFI collaborations, highlighting key success factors. It aims to demonstrate the impact of such partnerships and provide insights to enhance ongoing practices between DFIs and donors.
The study notes that at the firm and transaction level, donors help mitigate investment risks through technical assistance and blended finance grants, while DFIs focus on developing and managing investments in frontier markets. This approach is crucial in regions facing barriers like currency risk, political instability, regulatory challenges, and poor infrastructure.
